Novak Djokovic will play US Open despite COVID-19
Novak Djokovic announced that he has decided to compete in the US Open despite ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Djokovic, tested positive for COVID-19 in June after he organized a charity tennis tournament in Croatia, the Adria Tour, that operated without masks or social distancing requirements.
Roger Federer will not play after having two surgeries on his knee, and Rafael Nadal announced last month that he decided not to compete due to concerns about COVID-19.
I’m happy to confirm that I‘ll participate at #CincyTennis and #USOpen this year. It was not an easy decision to make with all the obstacles and challenges on many sides, but the prospect of competing again makes me really excited 😃💪🏼 https://t.co/qgxSTHrKK4 pic.twitter.com/tg6rgwfFqm
